Christmas is my absolute favorite time of year. I love celebrating the birth of Christ, the decorations everywhere, and all the giving and receiving that goes on. It is just a great time of year!
Since, Thanksgiving was last Thursday, Philip finally said it was socially acceptable to listen to Christmas music and decorate. (I say socially acceptable because lets face it, I would absolutely listen to Christmas music year round if people didn’t tell me it was weird to do.) Being busy Sunday through Tuesday this week we got to decorated our apartment for Christmas last night and tonight, I was so excited.
Last night, Philip and I headed to Bed, Bath, and Beyond to purchase our first Christmas tree. We decided since we would be traveling for Christmas and we have no kids, a fake tree would be the best purchase for the next few years, plus we had a gift card. Financially fit is the way to go people, gotta think of stretching that dollar with every purchase. We walked out of the store only spending $22.00 for a 7 foot Christmas tree! That is a steal my friends, it means I get more shopping money right?
Oh, I forgot to mention, the de Kozan household does not believe in wearing anything but sweats starting the minute you walk in the door. It is all comfort around here, so please ignore our clothing choice. Its about comfort and warmth. (We don’t use our heater.)
Tonight, we finished decorating the rest of the tree, I got sleepy after setting it up yesterday.

Philip putting the last ornament on.
P.S. I went to Florida State University, Philip is a University of Florida fan. That plate on the wall is a huge achievement on my part.
My family has always been big on giving/making ornaments over the years, and I love it. I have so many ornaments it is not even funny. Philip forgot to get his ornaments from home over Thanksgiving so our entire tree is filled my ornaments. The tree only having my ornaments makes me feel a little sad because it is our tree, but I think Philip enjoyed looking at all my bizarre ornaments. See below…
Workout
For the last six weeks, I have been participating inĀ Best Body Bootcamp by Tina Reale. For $25 you get eight weeks of workouts, weights and cardio, plus a support group on Facebook. I have followed the strength portion pretty closely, they are very different from any other workout I have done, which is awesome, boredom be gone. My body is constantly guessing at what will come next, and by the end of the week a rest day is always needed.
Today, I complete Workout B of phase 3, which included a circuit style workout. I just do not feel all that comfortable doing burpees in from of other people (I am that pathetic with them) so instead of doing the 60 seconds of burpees in the workout I skipped it and did 20 minutes of running. My body was spent at the end even without the burpees.
I hope everyone is looking forward to Friday and conference championship weekend for football. It is date night tomorrow night to celebrate my new job!!
Questions for you:
- Real tree or Fake tree for Christmas?
- What new workouts have you completed recently?
I really suggest the Best Body Bootcamp, best $25 I have spent in a while. Next round start January 7th and signs up begin Monday, December 3rd at tinareale.com.

My tree will feel naked without the Bug Eyed Angel hanging front and center.
We will have to get you a new Bug Eyed Angel to put on it.
We have a fake tree but I have always wanted a real one. And love having ornaments that are made or have some special meaning to them. Your tree looks great!
So glad you’re loving BBB!
I grew up with a real tree, and it is the smell that always gets me in the mood for Christmas. I am trying to duplicate it with candles.
BBB is awesome my legs have never felt stronger!
